Sunshine’s litter of 5 beautiful puppies arrived January 20. The 4 boys and 1 girl are all quite active and doing great. Some have been spoken for but there is 1 female and 1 male available. We expect this to be our only yellow litter this year. Stay posted – we’ll have more pictures in a few weeks.<a

Pictures of Sunshine’s puppies by Hurry born last year are the yellow puppies shown below.

Katie’s puppies are here!

Katie has a beautiful litter of 9 puppies born January 16. All are growing like weeds and are very active for this stage of their lives. No posing in a nice line for these babies. We have 5 boys and 4 girls. They will be ready for their new homes early March. We’ll keep you posted with more pictures in a few weeks when they are looking more puppy-like.

Keisha’s puppies are 4 weeks old!

Here they are! Keisha’s puppies love to eat, play and sleep with the occasional little bark thrown in. They are fun to watch develop. The red and pink strings are the females and the boys are the other two. All have found wonderful families to welcome them to their homes just before Christmas. We are hoping to have puppies from Sunshine and Katie in the new year.

Summer at Dora Lee Labradors

It has been a great summer at Dora Lee Labradors. We’ve had lots of visitors which means more games of fetch and walks than usual. We’ve also been introducing everyone to the young pups that will join our breeding females as they pass all our required testing. It is great to watch them develop as each one has their own unique personality – some traits from their moms, others from their fathers and then some that are just them.
Our next litters of puppies are expected to be available late fall and in the new year. We’ll keep you posted.

Susie has Retired!

Susie

It has come time for Susie to retire from her breeding days at Dora Lee. She is now available to a good home. She is in excellent health and has had her hips and eyes certified clear as well as DNA testing negative for EIC an CNM. Susie is a pleasure to take for walks on or off leash. But her favourite outside activity has to be playing fetch with our other dogs. She is very attentive and affectionate and loves to please. A large amount of her time is spent outside in the runs but they are in the house at breakfast time for an hour or two and of course she has been in for weeks when she has had her puppies. Susie would be ideal for a family who would prefer an older dog as a companion and family pet. As of today, Susie has found her retirement home with a wonderful family in Whitby, Ontario.

Out in the Big World!

Sun's 4 @8weeks

After waiting for snow storms and then ice storms to pass and dry up, we finally made it outside. Finding some remnants of snow banks seems to be a favourite activity. Now 8 weeks old and ready to go, there are just 4 young puppies needing to find new families. The 2 lovely females and 2 handsome males are pictured several times in the above photo. They are great puppies that we are enjoying very much. And all of these puppies have found their new homes.

7 Weeks Old!

Sun's pups @7 weeks collage

Sunshine’s puppies are 7 weeks old and will be ready to go to their new homes April 15. They love to be out and about, exploring everything. They can be quite an active group but then its nap time, there is peace and quiet. These are 2 very beautiful females and 3 quite handsome males have now been selected. The snow is almost gone so when things dry up we’ll be outside where the real exploring begins.

Handsome fellows!

collage of boys 5 12 weeks Sunshine '13

Sunshine’s lads are typical young fellows that just don’t like to sit still for a picture when there is so much exploring to do. It will be nice to get them outside when the snow is all melted and the mud dried up.

Our Lovely Young Ladies!

Sun's basket pupsFDSC_0703Sunshine’s litter has done really well and at 5 weeks are wonderful to watch interact with each other as well as with us. This litter tends to be more towards their mother’s fox red colour although there are a couple of males lighter like their father. This picture is of the 3 females who are just abit uncertain about this basket thing. Hopefully we’ll soon be able to get some shots of the young lads in the litter. We’ll keep you posted.

New Puppies!

Sunshine’s litter is doing just great. Here they are at 10 days of age. Stay posted, there’ll be more pictures coming.

Looking for love !

Kiesha’s beautiful black litter is an energetic group together, but they are quite affectionate and attentive as individuals. These arethe last 3 fellows to find homes. The largest is quite laid back – waiting to see what might happen before joining the others. All have great personalities. December 22, just in time for Christmas, everyone has found great homes!.

We have BLACK puppies!

As you can see, Keisha and Hurry’s litter of 8 black puppies are just beautiful! At 4 weeks of age, they are just starting to explore their world and develop their own unique personalities. It’s a fun time for all. Presently, we still have both males and females available. The 4 top pictures are of the little ladies and the bottom 2 are the only 2 young fellows we got before camera problems, followed by rain. We’ll get more photos when the weather improves.

And here they are!

Expecting new puppies!

It is with great anticipation that we wait for our next litter of puppies. Keisha is due in a few days with a litter by Hurry…..and they are expected to be Black! It has been a long time since we’ve had black so are quite excited about these puppies.

Just boys left!

These young fellows are 8 weeks old and ready for new homes. Each one has developed his own unique personality and are great fun to play with or just watch. And now we’ve all found wonderful new homes too.

5 weeks old and doing great!

Katie’s bevy of 10 are 5 weeks old already. It’s certainly fascinating watching their personalities gradually develop as they grow physically and encounter new situations. Although some have been reserved, there are several of the ones shown here still available – both males and females. We’ll keep you posted.

We have puppies!

Katie has presented us with a beautiful litter of 10 lovely puppies – 6 males and 4 females. They are all doing great and as the pictures indicate, they are really growing. These infant puppies will be “real” young pups in no time.

Sunshine’s Handsome Young Lads

Sunshine’s litter  at 5 weeks has become quite an active bunch and there has been alot of interest in it. As of March 25 everyone has found a wonderful home.

We don’t stay put now

Try to get 8 puppies in a row now? Not very likely. (Sunshine’s puppies)

Our Dogs – Katie

Katie

Katie is our junior chocolate female – with energy to burn – she just loves to run – and often it is just in huge circles around you, waiting for you to catch up to her. A keen hunter and retriever like her mother Kiesha, she is also a very affectionate companion. Katie has a wonderful litter of 8 really nice puppies, sired by “Brew”, September 16.
